Walter D. “DeWayne” Miller

Walter D. “DeWayne” Miller, age 70, of Huntington, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at his home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Friday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Pete Higgenbotham officiating and military rites performed by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington at a later date.

Preferred memorials are to Wei Song, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

DeWayne was born on September 10, 1947 in Huntington, the son of Walter A. and Francis L. (Denton) Miller. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Wei Song on June 13, 2010 in China. He worked as a manufacturing supervisor at Orton Crane in Huntington, retiring in 2014 after 40 years of service. DeWayne was a past member of the American Legion and Eagles Lodge in Huntington and loved drag racing cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed competing in car shows with his Corvettes and he had his own equipment to sing and host karaoke shows.

Survivors include his wife, Wei Song of Huntington, daughters Terri (Shawn) Mains of LaGrange and Laura (Jonathon) Tucker of Columbia City, sons DeWayne A. Miller and Travis W. Miller, both of Huntington, a stepson, Yong Long Lu (Zhao Xia Zhang) of Kai Feng, China, a brother, Albert A. Miller of Fort Wayne, sisters Donnabele M. Haneline and Jean (Pete) Higgenbotham, both of Huntington, 22 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. His parents precede him in death.
