Vivian I. Bragg

Vivian I. Bragg, age 73, of Huntington, died at 2:21 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at her home.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at American Legion Post #85, 1410 South Jefferson Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Vivian was born on November 6, 1944 in Huntington, the daughter of Austin S. Shock and Stella (Falba) Sheets, raised by her mother and stepfather, Albert J. Sheets. She married Charles H. Bragg on her birthday in 1965; he preceded her in death on January 24, 2008 after 42 years of marriage. Vivian worked as a press operator at Wabash Magnetics for 25 years. She was a member of American Legion Post #85, where she helped provide funeral dinners and put on fundraising benefits. She was a former member of Huntington Eagles Lodge, where she was actively involved for many years. She enjoyed dancing, roller skating, and country music. She especially loved her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Tina Marie Strayer of Indianapolis, five grandchildren, a great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her stepmother, Nellie Shock, her stepfather, Albert J. Sheets, a daughter, Amy Whilder, a stepson, Eddie E. Bragg, brothers Austin S. Shock and Sammy Shock, and sisters Loretta Septer, Katheryn Beeks, and Judy Tackett.
