Virginia McSpadden, 95, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 8:37 am, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born June 1, 1923 in Wabash to William D. and Hazel (Deeter) Lynn.
Virginia was a 1940 graduate of Wabash High School. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, 2 years and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. She married Thomas A. McSpadden in New York City, New York, on December 30, 1943; he died September 9, 2003. Virginia was an active member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church, was active in the Wabash Valley Music Association, and was a longtime member of Tri Kappa Sorority, Wabash Country Club, and Woman’s Clubhouse Association, all in Wabash. She was also a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels. Virginia enjoyed playing golf and tennis.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph William (Jennifer) McSpadden and Larry Douglas (Jane) McSpadden, both of Wabash and Bruce Lynn (Kaye) McSpadden of Indianapolis, Indiana, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Norma Kaminsky, who died in 2014.
Family will receive friends from 2-6pm Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. There will be an immediate family only service. Inurnment will be in Falls Cemetery, at a later date.
Preferred memorials are Wabash Presbyterian Church or Honeywell Foundation.
