Virginia Duffey Enman

Virginia Duffey Enman, 79, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Indiana, died at 3:46 pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Parkview Huntington Hospital. She was born on November 3, 1942, in Wabash, Indiana, to John and Edith (Hegel) Duffey.

Virginia was a 1960 graduate of Wabash High School, received her BS in Education from Indiana University, and also earned her Masters from the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois. She married Raymond T. Enman in Chicago, Illinois on October 31, 1970; he died December 14, 2017. Virginia taught elementary school math in the Wilmette, Illinois School System and also the Arlington Heights, Illinois School System. She was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church, the Delta Gamma Sorority, and was an American Contract Bridge League Life Master. Virginia volunteered several years at the Glenview, Illinois Village Treasure House consignment shop, who gave all their proceeds to a charity for women in need.

She is survived by three siblings, Kathleen Alspaugh, Morris Duffey, and Sarah Deigl, all of Wabash; nieces and nephews, Ann (Pedro) Sauer of Savannah, Georgia, Mary (Jeff) Kramer of Wabash, Jennifer (Skip) Yentes of Danville, Indiana, Douglas (Hean Ju) Duffey of South Korea, Laura Duffey of Wabash, and Christopher Deigl of Gainesville, Florida; and several great and great great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Martin Duffey.

There will be no services. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.

Preferred memorial is Animal Shelter of Wabash County.
