Victor Salazar Jr.

Victor Salazar Jr., 78, North Manchester, Indiana, formerly of Denver, Colorado, passed away July 22, 2021 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. Born on July 26, 1942 in Denver Colorado, Victor was the son of the late Victor and Mary (Gayton) Salazar Sr.

Victor’s love for his country was matched by few. He spent thirty years in the United States Navy serving his country. His time in the military allowed him to travel and visit all fifty states. After returning home from the Vietnam War, Victor furthered his education by earning a Master’s Degree in Psychology and then a PhD in Psychology as well.

Victor loved the game of baseball and traveled to all but two Major League Baseball stadiums. His favorite place to go was Los Angeles to watch his beloved Dodgers play. None of his travels, however, compared to the love he had for his children and grandchildren.

The loving memory of Victor Salazar Jr. will be forever cherished by his son, Steve (Heather) Salazar, Troy, Ohio; daughters, Erica (Casey) Hanley, Mishawaka, Indiana and Tina (Becca) Salazar, Portland, Oregon; brothers, Richard (Charlis) Salazar, Napa, California and Jose (Carla) Salazar, Denver, Colorado; sisters, Anita (Mike) Vrbsky, Chetek, Wisconsin, Linda Salazar, Denver, Colorado, and Yolanda Vega, Denver, Colorado; and seven grandchildren. Victor is preceded in death by his parents; son, Victor Salazar III; and sister, Connie Tamez.

Funeral services for Victor Salazar Jr. will be August 23, 2021 at 9:15 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
