Vernon E. “Gene” Henry, Jr., 60, Marion, passed away at 6:11 am on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Marion General Hospital. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, May 4, 1961, to Vernon and Catherine (Yeakle) Henry, Sr.
Vernon graduated from Marion High School and worked as a stocker at Goodwill. He enjoyed hunting, shooting and driving his truck. He was a very quiet man who kept to himself.
Survivors include his brothers, David (Christine) Henry of Marion, John “Eric” Henry of Houston, TX, Jesse (Kutabatha) Henry of Marion; sisters, Brenda (Phil) Weaver of Sweetser, and Donna (Floyd) Cooper of Benton, AR; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon E. and Catherine Henry, Sr.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner- North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN.
A service to celebrate Vernon’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the funeral home. Pastor Darrell Smith will be officiating with entombment following at Grant Memorial Park.
