Trespassing Leads To Drug Arrest

WABASH,Indiana — On June 16, 2016, at approximately 12:24 a.m. Village Pantry located at 204 Stitt Street reported a subject trespassing in the store. Sgt. Nick Brubaker preliminarily identified the subject as Justin E. Huttinger and allegedly located him driving out of the parking lot. Sgt. Brubaker initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle Huttinger was driving. During the investigation, a free air exterior sniff of the vehicle was conducted by Wabash County Sheriff’s Department K9 which resulted in a positive alert for narcotics in the vehicle. A search was conducted of the vehicle and Sgt. Brubaker alleges that a substance located in the vehicle preliminarily tested positive for Heroin. Huttinger was searched and officers allege that hypodermic needles were located on his person. Huttinger was preliminarily arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Hypodermic Needles, Criminal Trespass, and Driving While Suspended. Assisting with the investigation was Captain Ryan Short, Officer Phil Mickelson, and the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department.
