Thurman Amos

Thurman Amos, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital Downtown, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Thurman was born January 24, 1948 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Thurman Richard and Mary Lou (Lynch) Amos.  He married Mary Marie Taylor, and she preceded him in death.

Thurman was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he served three tours in Vietnam in 1966, 1967 and 1969.  He was also a rifle instructor when he came back stateside.  Thurman was a truck driver for Hiner Transport in Huntington.  He loved his family and grandchildren very much and never gave up without a fight.  He was a member of the Marine Corp. League Tripoli Detail and the Swayzee Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by sons, Matthew (Amanda) Taylor of Marion and Larry (Carrie) Amos of Albany;  daughters, Jill (J.D.) Dishman of Gas City and Angel Moore of Marion; brother, Larry (Kathy) Amos of Elwood; sister, Barbara (Kenneth) Randolph of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Dunning and a sister, Karen Tudor.

Visitation for friends and family will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Milissa Beeman officiating.

Burial will follow in Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayee, Indiana.
