Thomas Black

Thomas Black, 60, of Peru, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru.  He was born in Peru, IN to the late William and Mattie (Cable) Black and graduated from Peru High School in 1978. He married Marge on March 4, 1995 and she survives.

Tom loved riding motorcycles and was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and he liked camping. He worked in Peru as an automotive mechanic, first for Barney Hawkins at Hawks Tire, then Bob Caldwell and Paul Richard. Last he spent the past three years working with his sons.

He is survived by his wife, two sons; Chad Black, fiancé Kaylie Hartleroad and Zach (Megan) Black, one brother; Richard Black, one sister; Olene Anderson, father in-law; Richard (Mickey) Conkright, mother in-law; Marlene Heuer, one step-daughter; Jenny McBride, 9 grandchildren; Krystenn (Dakota) Harts, Steven McBride, Kelli and Kylie Wolfe and Patience, Brylee, Zoe, Jett and Aden Black, 1 great-grandchild; Chandler Harts.

He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 4-7pm. A service celebrating the life of Tom will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 30, 2018 with Pastor Rod Correll officiating at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St. in Peru.
