Teddy J. Street

Teddy J.  Street, 77, Gas City, passed away at 10:15 am on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial in Muncie. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, April 1, 1946, to Willard and Wilma (Kiser) Street. He married Leigh Inman, who survives.

Teddy graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1964 and attended Vincennes University. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and stationed in Panama. Following his military service, Teddy worked as a UAW International Representative for Chrysler. He was a member of the UAW #1166 where he held positions as a Steward, Committeeman, Apprentice Rep, Financial Secretary, Apprentice Trainer, and International UAW Rep. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion Post #95, and the Moose Lodge in Gas City. He was an all-sports athlete in high school.  He enjoyed playing and watching golf and any other sports on TV.  He loved activities with his grandchildren. He was instrumental in all the apprentices being able to get their Associate’s Degree at Vincennes University.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Chris (Dawn) Street of Carmel; daughter, Kara (Sean) France of Greentown; brother, Jerry (Georgia) Street of Gas City; grandsons, Jackson Street, Maxwell Street, Wesley Street, Harrison Street, Mason France, Mylan France; granddaughters, Charlotte Street, Madison (Alan) Weimer; great-granddaughter, Penelope Weimer; step-son, Andrew Wiseman of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Wilma Street; brother, Malcolm A. Cummings, Jr.; and step-son, Bradley Scott Ashley.

The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.

A funeral service to celebrate Teddy’s life will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Marion National Cemetery.
