Sue L. Stevens, 75, Muncie, passed away at 12:47 am on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Bethel Pointe Health & Rehabilitation in Muncie. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Sunday, January 26, 1947, to Darle and N. Pauline (Nelson) Tinkle. She married Monroe Stevens who preceded her in death on April 5, 2004.
Sue graduated from Oak Hill High School and worked as an Educational Assistant for Marion Community Schools. She chaperoned for Job’s Daughters and Demolay Sweethearts. She had been a member of First Friends of Marion and later, Union Chapel of Muncie where she enjoyed Bible Studies and small groups. Sue enjoyed her church and family, especially grandchildren. She raised her three children on her own which is an amazing accomplishment. She also loved watching sports.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah E. (Joseph) Jones of Muncie; sons, Michael A. (Darcy) Smith, Abraham B. (Kristi) Smith; grandsons, Keaton Smith, Jordan Ashley, Garrett Smith, and Andrew Jones; granddaughter, Krystal Sizemore; and 2 great grandchildren, Makenna Sizemore and Leighsen Sizemore.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Sue’s life will begin at 5:00 pm with Pastor Glenn Greiner officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
