Steven D. Rittenhouse

Visitation will be from 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Barry Faucett officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Bippus Calvary Cemetery in Huntington County with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington.

Preferred memorials are to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, or Bippus Calvary United Methodist Church, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Steven was born on June 11, 1948 in Huntington, the son of Ernest and Imogene (Helvey) Rittenhouse. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1967 and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Debra Hadley on January 25, 1970 in Roanoke; she preceded him in death on September 11, 2010. Steven retired from Zollner Corporation in Fort Wayne after 33 years making pistons as a machinist. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and playing Ping-Pong, as well as fishing, golfing, and bowling. He was a member of Bippus Calvary United Methodist Church and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his mother, Imogene Rittenhouse of Huntington, daughters Jennifer (Andy) Arivett of Bippus and Stephani Rittenhouse of Markle, sons Craig (Craig) Rittenhouse of Lafayette and Travis (Holly) Rittenhouse of Bippus, brothers Jeff (Angie) Rittenhouse of Bippus and Kevin Rittenhouse of Huntington, and a sister, Deborah L. (Bill) Swihart of Huntington. Also surviving are grandchildren Jenessa Lester, Alexandra Rittenhouse, Luna Hansen, Morgan Roberts, Breanna Rittenhouse, Jordan Gray, Shane Roberts, Logan Roberts, and Kiersten Arivett and great grandchildren Brayden, Trinity, Jr., Hadley, and Jaxson. His father and wife precede him in death.
