Shooting in Wabash Investigated

WABASH – On December 23, 2016, at approximately 11:23 a.m. Wabash City Police responded to the 100 block of N. Allen Street to investigate the report of a male that had been shot. Officers responded and located a 48 year old male with a reported gunshot wound to the face. The initial investigation led other officers to the 900 block of Sunset Drive to find a 50 year old female with suspected self inflicted injuries to herself. Both the male and female were transferred to Ft. Wayne hospitals for treatment. The initial investigation reveals that the two subjects were previously involved in a domestic relationship. Both residences are secured by First Shift Uniform Officers. Detective John Krhin and Crime Scene Investigators with the Indiana State Police are continuing the investigation. The male subject was taken by ambulance and the female was flown by medical helicopter. The Wabash County Sheriff’s Department is assisting at both scenes. All names are being withheld pending family notification and while the investigation continues.
