Sharon Louise Bitzel, 75, North Manchester, formerly of Huntington, passed away on January 30th, 2022 at home. The daughter of James and Virginia (Shaw) Thorn, Sharon was born June 15th, 1946 in Huntington, Indiana.
On November 23rd, 1968, Sharon married the love of her life, Raymond Paul Bitzel Sr. Sharon was a skilled homemaker who also ran in-home daycare services. She was a member of Etna Ave Wesleyan in Huntington, Indiana. Sharon was the apple of her husband, Raymond’s, eye and is fondly remembered as being strong-willed and strong-minded. She made sure her thoughts and opinions were heard and never backed down from a challenge.
The loving memory of Sharon Louise Bitzel will be forever cherished by her husband, Raymond Paul Bitzel Sr., North Manchester; sons, Douglas McGinnis, and Raymond (Yolanda) Bitzel Jr., Buford, Georgia; daughters, Ginny McGinnis, Fort Wayne, and Kira (Troy) Wardwell, Urbana; brother, Jim (Cheryl) Thorn, Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Virginia (Shaw) Thorn, and one sister, Sue Tucker.
Family and friends may call Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana.
