School Bus, Truck Crash Wednesday in Wabash

WABASH – A pickup truck struck a MSD of Wabash County school bus Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Maple and Allen streets in Wabash.
The truck flipped, pinning the driver inside.
MSD Superintendent Mike Keaffaber said none of the students on the bus were injured.
Most were released to their parents, while a few were transferred to another bus.
According to witnesses, the truck was traveling south on Allen Street at a high rate of speed. The bus, which was west on Maple Street, stopped when the driver saw the car speeding.
The car struck the right front of the bus before striking a curb and flipping. It landed on top of its hood.
One witness said the drive was complaining of a foot pain, and the witness and several bystanders attempted to lift the truck slightly in hope of relieving any pressure on the foot.
More details will be released when a police report is completed.
