Sandra Jean “Sandy” Alexander, 70, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 8:00 pm, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. She was born May 24, 1948 in Anderson, Indiana to Roy and Frances (North) Etchison.
Sandy was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School. She married Donald E. Alexander in Alexandria, Indiana, on September 8, 1968. She was a longtime cashier for Hooks Drugs, Revco Drugs, and CVS drugstore retiring in 2010. Sandy was a member of the Wabash Church of the Nazarene and a five year volunteer for Helping Hands of Wabash. She took pride in keeping a clean home, and enjoyed watching her grandkids sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Don Alexander of Wabash, two children, Tim (Sylvie) Alexander of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Becky (Matt) Burkhart of Wabash, three grandchildren, William Casey of Lansing, Michigan, Noah Burkhart and Isaac Burkhart, both of Wabash, and two brothers, Eddie (Linda) Etchison and Phillip (Julia) Etchison, both of Alexandria, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Wabash Church of the Nazarene, 902 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Kirk Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8pm Monday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, and 9-10 am Tuesday at the church.
