DUE TO THE RED TRAVEL BAN, RUTH HEINY’S SERVICE HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 17TH. VISITATION WILL BE FROM 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM WITH THE SERVICE TAKING PLACE AT 1:00 PM.

Ruth I. Heiny, 89, Marion, passed away in her residence at 8:40 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021. She was born in Gas City, Indiana, on Friday, January 29, 1932, to Ted and Goldie (Horner) Herring. She married Lowell D. Heiny in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2004.

Ruth graduated from Van Buren High School. She worked as a merchandise manager for several years with Marsh Drug Store. She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God, Cambridge Square Senior Band, Forever Young Class, and RCA Sympathy Club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, and traveling to the Gatlinburg, Tennessee area. She liked to garden and be outside when she could in earlier years. Ruth was joyously awaiting a great-great-grandchild.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki (Dennis) Ramey of Ossian; son, Michael Heiny of North Webster; brothers, Ted (Marjorie) Herring, Jr. of Gas City, Pete (Mary Frances) Herring of Marion; four grandchildren, Chad (Stephanie) Bradford, Amy (Jerry) Sargent, Kimberly (Brent) Cain, and Justin Heiny; and eight great-grandchildren, Colin Bradford, Mason Riddle, Blaine (Parker) Riddle, Adyson Sargent, Stratahn Sargent, Jordan Baker, Chase Baker, and Morgan Sargent.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lowell D. Heiny; brother, Paul Herring; sister, Betty Herring; and grandson, Bryan Ramey.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner – North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Ruth’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jeremy Snodgrass officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory – Marion.
