Ruth Evelyn Moser, 81, Somerset, passed away at 2:49 am on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born in Hornersville, Missouri, on Saturday, August 19, 1939, to Lewis and Maddie (Donaldson) Hogeland. On September 23, 1954, she married Jerry Moser and he survives.
Ruth worked as a manager for 12 years with K-Mart, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Somerset Christian Church (Somerset Church of Christ). She lit up the room when she walked in. Folks loved her and she knew no strangers, only friends she had yet to meet.
Survivors include her sons, Jeff L. Moser of Marion, Rick E. (Brenda) Moser of Timberlake, NC, David B. (Mary) Moser of Urbana, John B. (Teresa) Moser of Yancyville, NC; 12 grandkids; and 15 great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Maddie Hogeland; brothers, LC Hogeland, Wayne Hogeland; and sister, Phyllis Jean Rice.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Ruth ‘s life will be held at 11:0 am on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the Somerset Church of Christ. Jeff Hierholzer will be officiating with burial following at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery.
Due to Covid-19 masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced.
