Ruth Ann Williams, 81, of Gas City, passed away at 7:20 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Marion on October 31, 1938, to Lester and Sarah (Pattison) West. On August 23, 1959, she married Clyde Dean Williams, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2011.
Ruth graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1956. Ruth worked at RCA, Owens Glass Factory, Best Western, Super 8, Bradner Village and University Healthcare.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gas City where she loved attending services and spending time with her church family. Ruth enjoyed going to rummage sales and going on golf cart rides. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a funny and loving woman who will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her daughters, Risa L. Goins of Marion and Sara K. Williams of Gas City; son, Derrick M. (Bill) Williams of IN; grandsons, Matthew Owens of Marion, Nathan Owens of Marion and Dylan Williams of Gas City; granddaughters, Whitney (Blake) Chapman of Gas City and Kennidi Williams of Gas City; great-granddaughters, Kaylynn Owens, Lainey Timmons and Lily Chapman; great-grandsons, Brayden Owens and Lucas Chapman; her dog, Petey; sister-in-law, Kathy West and several nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester U. West; mother, Sarah A. West; loving husband, Clyde Dean Williams; son-at-birth, Bobby Williams; and Brother, Richard West.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Ruth’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Steve Fritchman officiating. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
