Russell L. Felton, 85, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 28, 1938 to Charles and Amanda (Huffman) Felton.
Russ was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was known for his kind heart, his love for cooking, music, and a passion for his family. Russ played drums in a rock and roll band for 36 years, and was a licensed electrician. He held a private pilot license, real estate license, and home appraiser license. He owned and operated Russ’ Drum and Guitar Shoppe and Russ’ 1-Hour Photo. He retired in 2000 from his role as an electronics specialist at RCA in Marion, after 35 years.
Russ had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed golfing, being outside, and working out at the gym. He loved his family dearly and attended all his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and music performances. He attended The River Church in Marion.
Russ is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Wanda June (Montgomery) Felton; his children, Doug (Cheryl) Felton, Robyn (Rick) Fox, Julie (Doug) Bennett, and Wendy Felton; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Jack Felton, Bud (Gayla) Felton, Carl (Barbara) Noble; sisters, Patricia (Henry) Vandenburg and Regina Williamson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Huffman, Charles Felton, Charles Noble, and Gil Noble. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to noon with services at noon on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E Main Street, Gas City, IN. Pastor Matthew Trexler will be officiating.
