Ruben E. Friend, 68, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born October 26, 1950 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to John Earl and Ruby (Purnell) Friend.
Ruben was a graduate of Wabash High School and retired from Wabash Metal Products. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing poker, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie (Tim Hartley) France, and two grandaughters, Kendall France and Katelynn France, all of Wabash; brother, John (Beverly) Friend of Wabash; and two sisters, Diann Carson of Henderson, Tennessee, and Wanda (Joe) Campbell of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
