Ronnie V. Tackett, 75, Marion, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. He was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky, on May 23, 1948, to Charles and Velma (Bradley) Tackett. On August 31, 1985, he married Debbie J. Denney.
Ronnie graduated from Marion High School in 1966. He worked several years and retired from Grant County Steel. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 10. He loved playing his Gibson guitar. He loved the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed fishing and playing softball. He enjoyed working in his garden; he was proud of his garden. He loved his golf and spending time with his friends. More than anything, he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie J. Tackett of Marion; son, Steven Tackett of Marion; daughter, Angela (John) Rangel of Marion; grandchildren, Kayla (Chris) Carlson, Brandon Brooks, Larissa Tackett; great-granddaughter, London Fuller; and brother, Darrell (Cindy) Tackett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Tackett; mother, Velma Tackett; son, Jeffrey Tackett; brother, Donnie Tackett; sister, Carrell Tackett and great-granddaughter, Ashley Brooks.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Ronnie’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
