Ronald “Ron” Eugene Rife, 73, of Peru, Indiana, died at 9:06 am, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Hickory Creek in Peru. He was born April 8, 1946 in Wabash, Indiana to Robert “Bob” Eugene and Miriam “Lorene” (Gillespie) Rife.
Ron was a 1964 graduate of Southwood High School. He married Linda Middleton in Wabash on June 21, 1969. He was a retired construction worker, farmed, and also worked at the Honeywell Center in Wabash. Ron was a member of the Lincolnville United Methodist Church, Pioneer Power of North Central Indiana, and the Old Boys Toys Club in Wabash. He collected antique and toy tractors. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Lincolnville Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Rife of Peru, three sons, Chad (Tracey Powell Draper) Rife and Scott (Lisa) Rife, all of Wabash, and Aaron (Kimberly Ogden) Rife of Peru, five grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Eis, Jessica Baker, Emily (Shawn) Light, and Abby Rife, all of Wabash, and Nichol Rife of Peru, 10 great grandchildren, and his brother, Gale Rife of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be 4:00 pm Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Wabash Chapel Church of God, 1463 Middle Street, Wabash, with Rev. Ralph Johnson officiating. Family will receive friends from 2-4pm Saturday at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
