Ronald Lee Schaaf, 63, of Laketon, Indiana, died at 11:10 am, Monday, November 1, 2021, at his home. He was born on May 10, 1958, in Wabash, Indiana, to Lewis H. and Irene (Lake) Schaaf.
Ron was a 1978 graduate of Northfield High School. He worked at Cyclone Seeder in Urbana, Indiana, and retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation in Wabash after several years. Ron attended the Sweetwater Assembly of God in North Manchester. He enjoyed working in his garage and yard, cutting trees, and was crazy about John Deere tractors and NASCAR.
He is survived by two children, Christina Schaaf of San Bernardino, California, and Joshua Michael Schaaf of Laketon, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two brothers, Gary Schaaf of Fremont, Indiana, and Dennis Schaaf of Warsaw, Indiana, half brother, Lewis Junior Schaaf of Ohio, nephew and nieces, Martin Schaaf, Tamara (Don) Smith, and Barbara (Michael) Daniels, all of Wabash, Betty (Ron) Richards and Richi (James) Flohr, both of Cleveland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, November 5, 2021, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Ralph Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 1-2 pm Friday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Wabash County Cancer Society.
