Rodolfo “Rudy” Marin

Rodolfo “Rudy” Marin, 56, Marion, passed away at 9:45 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, September 29, 1966, to Aldolfo and Alice (Hernandez) Marin.  

Rudy graduated from Marion High School. He enjoyed documentaries and learning new information through reading. He also loved watching Jeopardy and sports, especially Notre Dame football, as well as IU and Marion Giants basketball. More than anything, he loved watching the Oakland (Las Vegas) Raiders.  Rudy loved people, was very charismatic, and he lit up a room as soon as he walked in. He simply enjoyed people. He had a deep love for his kids and his mom.

Survivors include his children, Caesar Marin of Fort Wayne, Nicholas (Emily) Duke of Fort Wayne, Alyssa (Josh) Woodbridge of Marion, Alicia (Levi) Overbey of Marion, Caleb Emry of Marion, Rudi (Timothy) Inman of Gas City, Ariah Marin of Marion, and Elijah Marin of Marion; sisters, Raquel “Rachel” (Kenny) Brown, Barbara Alfaro, Irma Alfaro, Irene Alfaro, Mary “Lulu” Tondreau, and Julia “Judy” Reyes; brothers, Javier Marin, Armando Marin, and Aldolfo Marin; grandchildren, Mariana Marin, Elias Marin, Oscar Marin, Nicholas “Nico” Duke, Jr., Elin Duke, and Titan Woodbridge, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Samuel Marin and Manuel Alfaro; and nephews, Samuel H. Marin, II, Kaleb Marin, and JJ Contreras.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Rudy’s life will begin at 1:00 pm.  Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
