Rodney J. Miller, age 94, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Rolling Meadows Healthcare in LaFontaine, Indiana.
Rodney was born June 26, 1928 in Laconia, New Hampshire, the son of the late John and Florence (Jewell) Miller. He married Billie Weesner on November 15, 1958.
Rodney served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed mason contractor. Rodney was a member of the First Christian Church, the Elks Country Club, the Fairmount American Legion and the Brick Layers Association. He was an avid golfer, playing 7 days a week, and had accomplished 2 “Holes in One.”
He is survived by his wife, Billie Miller of Marion; two daughters, Renee Gerstorff of Anderson and Valree (Rex) Kinch of Marion; brothers, George (Carol) Miller of Port Royal, S. Carolina, John Miller of Huntington, and Leroy (Barbara) Miller of Peru; sisters, Arlene McGraw of LaFontaine, and Carolyn Porter of Marion; 5 grandchildren, Cameron Kinch, Zachary (Shai) Kinch, Amanda (Chad Buckler) Gerstorff, Grant Gerstorff, and Emily (David Semenick) Gerstorff; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Miller; brothers, Mervil Miller and Bruce Miller; and sisters, Gertrude Jordan and Ellen Downam.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at First Christian Church, 1970 N. Wabash Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at Noon with Pastor Haley Asberry officiating.
Burial will immediately follow funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
