Rochester Couple Arrested on Drug Charges

Rochester, Ind. – Monday, a month long narcotics investigation by troopers working from the Indiana State Police Peru Post led to the arrests of Don Stevens, 55, and Kathryn Cox, 44, both from rural Rochester, IN. The couple was incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail to face criminal charges for dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, cultivating marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

As part of the narcotics investigation, troopers developed enough probable cause to be granted a Fulton Circuit Court search for Stevens’ and Cox’s residence at 4340 East State Road 14, rural Rochester. During the search, officers allegedly found approximately 80 grams of crystal methamphetamine, approximately one gram of cocaine, 57 marijuana plants, approximately two pounds of processed marijuana, and six firearms.

Assisting ISP with the investigation was officers from the Rochester Police Department and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.

This is an ongoing investigation.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
