Robert Gottschalk Sr, age 79, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 5:58 pm at the Heritage of Huntington. He graduated from Lagro High School and worked as a typesetter at the Herald-Press for 36 years. He was a devoted grandfather and an avid bowler.
Robert was born October 6, 1938, in Wabash, the son of Lyman G. and Ruth (Conrad) Gottschalk. He is survived by a son Robert G. (Leslie) Gottschalk Jr. of Huntington, a daughter Lisa (Daniel) Meyer of Huntington, 8 grandchildren Jeffery Gottschalk of Huntington, Kevin Gottschalk of Huntington, Michael G. (Marissa) Gottschalk of Huntington, Nathan Gottschalk of Huntington, Aaron (Joy) Meyer of Huntington, Benjamin Meyer of Huntington, Allison Meyer of Indianapolis, and Samuel Meyer of Fort Wayne. and 1 great-grandchild Kylee Gottschalk. He was preceded in death by a brother James Gottschalk.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 7 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Huntington Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Lagro Cemetery.
