Robert “Bob” Ray Manley, Jr.

Robert “Bob” Ray Manley, Jr., 88, Marion, passed away in his home at 8:32 am on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born in Owingsville, Kentucky, on Wednesday, March 13, 1935, to Ray and Lottie (Staton) Manley. He was married to Lynette Comer, who survives.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he learned welding.  Following his military service, Bob was a forklift operator at General Motors until his retirement. He attended The River Church and was previously a member of Sunnycrest Baptist Church.  Bob enjoyed playing pool and golfing. He also liked going to Court Days in Kentucky, tinkering in his garage, playing cards, and going for car rides. Bob loved checking in on his family and going to church on Sundays.

In addition to his loving wife, Lynette Manley, survivors include his son, Timothy W. Manley of TN; daughter, Carrie Manley of Marion; granddaughters, Tabatha Chezick of Marion, Tara (Allen) Brandon of TN, and Brittany Manley of TN; grandsons, Kody (Michael Staggs) Manley of Kokomo, Adrian (Rebecca) Krogh of TN, and Timothy (Cassie) Manley, Jr., of TN; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Roger (late Margie) Manley of KY; and sister, Mary Kay Smith of KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Ray Manley; grandson, Kevin Manley; granddaughter, Carrie Mathis; brother, Paul Manley; and sisters, Betty Murphree, Annie Richards, and Louise Spence.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Bob’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating.  Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
