Richard A. “Shorty” Fletcher, 72, Marion, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018, in his home. He was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, on December 1, 1945, to the late William and Betty (Collins) Fletcher.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and, following his military service, was a tool and die maker at Active Products. He married Elizabeth Lyons and they had four children, Lori Ann, Eric, Nyoka, and Betty. He was a member of ABATE and enjoyed the hobbies of bowling, golfing, and building model airplanes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth, Marion; children, Eric (Jeannie) Fletcher, Marion, Nyoka (James) Copeman, London, Ontario, and Betty (Roger) Hamm, Marion; brother, Raymond (Debbie) Fletcher, London, Ontario, and Rebecca (Dan) Berdan, Aylmer, Ontario; grandchildren, Kristin, Danyell, Eric Jr., Orbin, Veronica, Blake, Jesse, Christian, Caleb, Jenaro, Angel, Perfecto, and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Miracle, and Ma’Ryiah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Ann, and brother, Ronald Fletcher.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date for Richard.
