Raymond “Ray” “Boston” A. Bibeau

Raymond “Ray” “Boston” A. Bibeau, 71, Marion, left this world and entered heaven at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018.  He passed at his home after a battle with cancer, with his wife by his side.

Raymond was born in Taftville, Connecticut, on August 27, 1947, to Armand and Helene (Bellrose) Bibeau.  He graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1965.  His college education was interrupted by the draft, and he served from 1966-1968 (1 year, 9 months, and 5 days) in Vietnam as part of the 168th Combat Battalion 27th Land Clearing Team.

In 1989, Raymond moved to Marion and was a general contractor.  He loved working with wood and had a carpenter shop at his home.  He even made his own casket.  It was ten years later when he married “the love of his life”, Marti, on January 1, 1999.  They both agree that they were the best 20 years of their lives.  Raymond was a member of Grace Community Church in Marion and various service organizations, as well as 624 Carpenter’s Union in Kokomo.

His passing will leave a void in many hearts.  Left to remember that Bibeau smile and his generous, giving personality is his wife, Marti Bibeau; sister, Dr. Colette (Roland) Trailor, Cape Cod, Massachusetts; daughter, Michelle H. Bibeau, Hyde Park, Massachusetts; grandson, Dominic Bramante; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Armand J. Bibeau; mother, Helene Bibeau; brother, Maurice J. Bibeau; and two step-sons, Michael S. Rudy and Gerin P. Rudy.

The family will receive visitors from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Raymond’s funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.  Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger will be officiating with burial following at Marion National Cemetery.
