Ray Lawrence “Larry”  Drook

Ray Lawrence “Larry”  Drook, 88, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died at 6:23 pm, Friday, January 5, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  He was born on May 3, 1935, in Wabash, Indiana, to Robert and Inez (Leavell) Drook.

Larry was a 1953 graduate of Somerset High School and received his Associates Degree from International Business College in Fort Wayne. He married Carole Ann Horning at the Somerset Methodist Church on March 22, 1958; she died Setpember 24, 2023. Larry was the IT Account Manager at Fisher Body in Marion, Indiana, retiring after 35 years. He also worked at Dana in Marion. Larry was a member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Somerset, Hot Springs United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Masonic Lodge, and the Order of the Eastern Star. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, tinkering on the computer, traveling, and volunteer work. Larry was a tissue donor.  

He is survived by two daughters, Julie (Rod) Oser of Fort Wayne, and Karen Drook of Fishers, Indiana; and his granddaughter, Olivia Oser of Fort Wayne.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Carol Armstrong.

There will be a Celebration of Larry and Carole’s life at a later date. Burial will be in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Somerset. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
