Randall L. Ropp

Randall L. Ropp, 72, of Jonesboro, passed away at 10:21 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Services in Indianapolis. He was born in Marion on April 4, 1950, to Joseph and Naomi (Henry) Ropp. On January 27, 1979, he married Robyn Nelson, and she survives.

Randall graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1968 and served in the United States Air Force from 1969 – 1973. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged. Following his military service, Randall worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 40 years, until his retirement. He was a member of Marion First Friends Church.

Randall enjoyed woodcarving. He liked going to Pokagon State Park and Panama City Beach with his family. Randall also went to several concerts in the park in Gas City. More than anything, he cherished spending time with his family and having morning coffee with his friends at McDonald’s.

In addition to his loving wife of 43 years, Robyn, Randall is survived by his daughter, Natalie (Jay) Case of Noblesville; son, Nathan (Jennifer) Ropp of Jonesboro; granddaughters, Reagan, Kaylin, and Kenzie; grandson, Cooper; sisters, Jennifer (Tim) McClamroch of West Harrison and Karen (Mike) Shepperd of Gas City; brother, Timothy (Lisa) Ropp of Gas City; plus several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Daniel Ropp; mother, Naomi Marie Ropp; and son, Christopher Veach.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Randall’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dwight Elliott officiating. Private burial will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Marion First Friends Church, 2211 N. Wabash Rd., Marion, IN 46952.
