Point In Time Homeless Survery to be Held Wednesday, January 24th

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – Point in Time is a snapshot of the homeless population in our community for one night of the year. The count always happens in January and is based on living in places unfit for human habitation. This year, volunteers from the Miami County Systems of Care Governance Coalition will interview homeless residents in Miami County at Manna on Main Street, Helping Hands, as well as on the street. Although HUD requires every county in Indiana to participate in the Point In Time survey, agencies and stakeholders in our community are acutely aware of the profound need in Miami County to address gaps in resources available for the homeless. As a result of the survey last winter, several homeless individuals were documented in Miami County. One of the direct outcomes from the survey led to increased resources and grant funding for families facing immediate homelessness. If you know of an individual that is sleeping in a car, squatting in an abandoned building, or staying in a shelter, please ask them to come to Manna on Main Street or Helping Hands on Wednesday, January 24th. The survey is anonymous and confidential.  As always if you need help call or text 211.
