Peru Parks Board Discusses Amphitheater Landscaping, Community Easter Egg Hunt, and More at Regular Session

PERU, Ind. – The Peru parks board met Thursday night in regular session at City Hall. Here are the topics from that meeting. The amphitheater will be receiving some landscaping soon.  Kent Workman gave the board an update on the 2017 Community Easter Egg Hunt which will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Lower Maconaquah Park. The board renewed the contract with the PHS softball league.  Under new business the Lions Club is celebrating its 100th year anniversary and would like to share in the celebration with the parks by planting 100 trees throughout the parks system. They will start on May 13th by planting trees at Davis Park.  Sherry Loshnowsky asked for  permission to use the Riverwalk & Canal St. for a Night Time 5k Run  Fundraiser for the Back to School Festival on May 28th, pending approval from City Hall.  The next Parks Board  meeting will be May 11th at 7:00 pm at City Hall.
