Peru Mayor Declares March as Disability Awareness Month

PERU, Ind. – The City of Peru’s Mayor Gabe Greer declared March as “Disability Awareness Month.” Mayor Greer declared the proclamation at City Hall in front of Harvesting Capability members, staff, and volunteers. Harvesting Capabilities is a local non-profit organization focused on educating the community about those with disabilities and offering help to others in similar situations. They offer a thrift store and discount medical supply store located at 231 N Grant Street in Peru. Harvesting Capabilities is currently in search of support and donations for their all-inclusive ADA playground that will be built next to Miami’s Fort on West Canal Street in Peru.
