Peru BOW Keeping An Eye On Buildings

CityofPeru

PERU – Peru Board of Public Works met Thursday evening, City Hall. City Attorney gave a report to the board, with a Warning for Peru residents, purchasing at tax sale or commissioners sale. There have been many purchases of buildings at the county tax sales for the amount of back taxes. The city will be keeping a list of all purchases and inspecting the buildings for compliance with the state and local building codes. Hopefully this will discourage those people who purchase with no intent to make needed repairs and encouraging true investors.

The board approved the 30th Annual Cole Porter Classic 5K and 15K run on Saturday, October 1st at 9:00 a.m., the route starts at the circus building, going South on Miami to Canal, West on Canal to West City Park and to the Nickel Plate Trail, then return back on the same route to the Finish Line. 7th Street from Broadway to Main Street will be closed from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. for the Pee Wee Race. 1st Annual Tent Event was also approved in the adjacent alley to Voodoo Public House, on Saturday, September 10th from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m on Sunday, September 11th.
