PERU, Ind. – Peru Board of Works met Monday evening in regular session at Peru City Hall. Among the agenda were 3 bids submitted for demolition of 63 & 65 South Broadway, which will go under advisement before a final decision is made. A motion was denied placing “Resident Parking Only” signs in front of 451 East 3rd Street and 40 South Lincoln Street, as Mayor Greer stated this is a matter of state law:
There were also multiple road closure approvals given for upcoming city events including a Colts Fan Fest, Cole Porter Festival, and the Circus City parade. The School Resource Officer contract was also discussed and voted upon to not be renewed through the Peru Police Department but to remain through the independent SRO program.
