Paul Edwin Oden, 88, Jonesboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Marion Health. He was born in Bluffton, Indiana, December 24, 1933, to Jessie and Lette (Twibell) Oden.

Paul graduated from Converse High School in 1951. He worked as a truck driver for several different trucking companies. He also worked many years as a mechanic at Ford Garage. Paul loved traveling and spending time with family.  He once built a truck camper to use on his camping trips.  He enjoyed fishing as a child and always loved watching basketball and baseball on TV. Paul liked to record church services and Christian music. He enjoyed reading Christian material.  

Survivors include his son, Brian Oden of Gas City, daughter, Norma (Ted) Dickey of Anderson; step-children, Marla Persinger, George E.(Ramona) Carroll, Jr., Kenneth S. (Alice) Carroll, and Jeff L. (Terrie) Carroll; grandchildren, Christina (Charles) Moore, Kimberly Teagarden, Lisa Gray, Heather Oden, and Jeremy (Tracy) Dickey; 3 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister, Nina Bowland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife; JoAnn Oden; second wife, Vonna Carroll-Couch; son, Mark Allen Oden; and five sisters, Naomi Brown, Katherine Ramsey, Mary Etta Barnhart, Lucille Thomas, and Thelma Imogene Oden.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.  

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Paul’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Joel Gearhart officiating. Burial will take place at Park Lawn Cemetery in Amboy, Indiana.
