Patty Jean (George) Ratcliff

Patty Jean (George) Ratcliff, 66, Marion, passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born in Marion on September 4, 1951, to the late Raymond and Bernice (Shuff) George. On September 15, 1979, Patty married Ronald R. Ratcliff, and he survives.
Patty graduated from Marion High School in 1970 and was a maintenance worker at Foster-Forbes for 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, and she participated in a bowling league for 30 years. She also enjoyed sewing and belonged to the Quilt Club. As Patty got older, she continued to enjoy sewing and fishing for fun. She was a member of the Euchre Club and a member and leader of 4-H. She had raised and shown Quarter Horses.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ronald; son, Aaron Ray Ratcliff; sisters, Joan Abernathy, Joyce Clevenger, Barbara Atkins, Nancy Shockey, and Lois Lamm; and brother, Jack Bradford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ty Ray Ratcliff, who was stillborn in 1980, and a sister, Phylis Bradford.
The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Services to celebrate Patty’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
