WABASH, Ind. – Parkview Health has added a Mobile Simulation lab that operates much like an actual ambulance, including the most advanced technology and medical equipment.

Wabash Fire Department had advanced training Thursday from Parkview Medical Simulation Lab. An off-site training was held on a bicyclist/pedestrian that was struck while riding a bicycle in front of the fire station. Patient was a victim of a hit and run. Patient found on the side of the road outside the fire station. Right ankle was amputated in boot with leg wrapped in bicycle chain.

Parkview wants to provide realistic patient scenarios to a variety of healthcare professionals with the goal of achieving excellence in safe, high quality patient care. Examples include using the manikins to simulate all types of emergent care situations;

  • Trauma
  • Deterioration in patient condition
  • Specialized emergent conditions in pediatrics and maternal and baby care

The mobility of this new asset allows them to adjust more to the needs and practices to who are trained. One of the key features are the lifelike mannequins used during the simulations. This allows the professionals to respond as realistically as possible.
