Opal E. Hartley, 90, of Angola, IN. formerly of Geneva, IN, passed away at 1:34 AM on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Aperion Care of Angola in Angola, IN. She was born on Tuesday, May 15, 1928, in Ohio City, OH. She married Clarence R. Hartley in 1953 in Markle, IN, he preceded her in death on November 10, 1972. Opal attended Jefferson Twp. schools in Adams Co. She was a homemaker and was the cook at the Holiday Inn in Angola. Opal was a member of the Missionary club in Angola; she enjoyed flowers and loved spending time with her family.
Loving Survivors include her Daughter – Mary Elaine Cramer, Fairfax, VA, Daughter – Nancy M. Laskoski, Rolling Prarie , IN, Daughter – Susan C. (Robert) Kollmar, Downers Grove, IL, Son – Clarence Hartley, Jr., Angola, IN, Brother – Robert (Mary) Switzer, Geneva, IN, 5 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her Father – John Lewis Switzer, Mother – Nellie (Click) Switzer, Husband – Clarence R. Hartley, Sr., and Sister – Emmajean Thatcher.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
A service to celebrate her life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 28, 2018. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
