DENVER, IND. – A student at North Miami High School faces multiple drug charges after deputies say he brought more than 600 prescription pills to school and gave some to another student, who then became ill after taking them.

Miami County Sgt. Ron Dausch responded to the school at around 10:52 a.m. Friday after administrators reported 18-year-old Dylan Miller was acting lethargic and seemed to be under the influence of drugs.

Dausch said he arrived and found Miller on the floor in a school office. He then transported Miller to Dukes Memorial Hospital, where a few prescription pills were found in his pocket.

A search of Miller’s backpack revealed he had more than 600 pills in his possession, including muscle relaxants and anti-depressants. Dausch said Miller had taken the pills from his home.

Further investigation revealed Miller had given five of the pills to another student, who took all of them at once before vomiting and becoming ill.

The student was transported to the hospital, where he was treated and released, Dausch said.

Miller was arrested on four felony charges of possession of a legend drug and one felony charge of delivering a legend drug to another person.

He is being held at the Miami County jail on a $25,000 bond.
