Norman Ray Lightle

Norman Ray Lightle, 83, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away August 21, 2021. Born August 16,
1938 in Veedersburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harold Ray and Celestia Maxine (Eudy)
Lightle.
Norman was a wonderful husband to his wife, Pamela (Edmunds) Lightle, who he married on April
12, 1957. Norman and Pamela sadly experienced the loss of their daughter, Delynda Lynn (Lightle)
Rhoades, in 2008. They were happily married for fifty-nine years until Pamela passed away on July 9,

  1. Norman loved each of his children and had a special bond with all of his grandchildren.
    A veteran of the United States, Norman proudly served his country as a Military Policeman. He was
    also a past member of the Sheriff Department in Wabash County, NRA, Izaak Walton League,
    Masonic Lodge, Carpenters Organization, and the Congregational Christian Church. Norman enjoyed
    woodworking, especially making cabinets, and made dressing tables with beveled mirrors for each of
    his granddaughters. He enjoyed his time spent farming, hunting, fishing, watching old westerns, and
    reading. Norman was a man who loved helping others and was very likeable.
    The loving memory of Norman Ray Lightle will be forever cherished by his sons, Scott C. and
    Christopher R. Lightle, both of North Manchester; daughter, Shawn M. (Robert) Oberg, South
    Whitley; grandchildren, Chad M. (Cheri) Rhoades, Erica D. (Seth) Hendress, Travis R. (Sarah)
    Lightle, Dylan R. (Stacey) Zinsmeister, Jessica L. Zinsmeister, Amanda M. Zinsmeister, Sarah Oberg,
    Brandon Oberg, and Michael Hooker; ten great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Bryan (Brenda)
    Denney and Brad (Kerri) Denney. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pamela
    Lightle; daughter, Delynda Lynn Rhoades; and sister, Marilyn Kay Denney.
    Family and friends may call Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the
    Congregational Christian Church, 310 North Walnut Street, North Manchester, Indiana. A celebration
    of Norman’s life will start at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Sebrena Cline and Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
    For those that wish to honor the memory of Norman Ray Lightle, memorial contributions may be
    made to the Congregational Christian Church, 310 North Walnut Street, North Manchester, Indiana
    46962.
    The family of Norman Ray Lightle has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
