Norma Jean Corzine

Norma Jean Corzine, 83, of Jacksonville, Florida, died at 2:30 am, Monday, July 29, 2019 at her home. She was born October 9, 1935 in Corning, Arkansas to Orla Oscar and Beulah Irene (Hays) Simmons.

Norma was a graduate of East Moline High School in Illinois. She married Alfred Cottrell, he died in 1963. Norma was a motel clerk at BOQ in Cherry Point, North Carolina, retiring after 15 years. She loved playing Yahtzee, rummy, puzzle books, 50’s rock and roll, and watching birds and squirrels. She especially loved owls. Norma was a frequent shopper with QVC. She loved Danke the dog, John Wayne, smoking her cigarettes, and enjoyed making people laugh.

She is survived by two children, Anthony Cottrell of Rigby, Idaho, and Stacey Gulley of Jacksonville, grandchildren; David (Blair) Hampton, Tiffanie (Kyle) France, Timothy (Molly) Hampton, Michael Hampton, Curtis (Samantha) Wheat, Summer Cottrell, Edwin Cottrell, Christopher Gulley, Brandon Gulley, Galen Allen, Cody Wilson, and Christian Deyorio, great-grandchildren; Matthew Hampton, Brandon Hampton, Alexis France, Charity France, Kendall France, Katelynn France, Javanni Wheat, and Kami (Wheat) Frank, siblings; Donald Simmons, Glen Simmons, and Gloria Simmons Brewer, step-siblings; Rodney Bryan, Kathleen Bryan Bless, and Linda Bryan Martin, and half-siblings, Jean Simmons Wilson and Joan Simmons Curtis. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Teri Marion.

Graveside services will be private. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
