Myrtle A. Bentley, 94, of Wabash, Indiana, went to be with her Lord at 1:15 pm, on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born November 16, 1925 in Martin, Kentucky, to Lewis and Pearl (Bentley) Murphy.
Myrtle married Edward Bentley in Paintsville, Kentucky on August 7, 1944, he died December 1, 1991. She lived in Wabash since 1961, coming from Wayland, Kentucky. She was a cook at the Wabash County Hospital, Clark’s Bakery, and Jim Dandy Restaurant. Myrtle was a member of the Wabash Free Will Baptist Church, and was a devoted prayer warrior. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, and baking.
She is survived by three daughters, Teresa (Terry) Pulley, Tharon Sluss, and Sue (Tom) Oldenkamp, all of Wabash, five granddaughters, Tracy (Tom) Dempsey of Wabash, Cindy (David) Wiley of Converse, Indiana, Michele Weaver and Stephanie (Greg) Osborn, both of Wabash, and Courtney Pulley of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 11 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael E. Bentley, son-in-law Mack Sluss, grandson, Thomas E. Oldenkamp, great granddaughter, Destinee K. Pulley, five brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Wabash Free Will Baptist Church, 1056 Erie Street, Wabash, with Rev. Venny VanHoose and Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 1-2pm Tuesday at the church. The family asks that all who attend please wear a mask.
