Mumps may have Spread through National FFA Convention and Expo

This from wthr.com: INDIANAPOLIS, IN-Eyewitness News has learned that a person with mumps attended the National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis.
The convention went from Oct. 30 – Nov. 2, though the potential exposure is being listed as Oct. 30 and 31.

The Indiana State Department of Health has notified local providers to look for mumps in anyone who presents symptoms and attended the convention.

ISDH said the risk of exposure is low.

Initial symptoms are often non-specific and include myalgia, malaise, headache, loss of appetite, low-grade fever, and parotitis (swelling of the salivary gland below the ear).

The incubation period of mumps is 12-25 days after exposure.
