MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL FIRES

WABASH COUNTY – The Noble TWP. Fire Department responded on 05/31/2017 at 4:22pm. to a structure fire at 7244 W. / 250 N. and also to 7222 W. / 250 N.

Upon arrival, NTFD found heavy smoke and fire conditions. Within a minute of arrival the adjacent structure caught fire due to the high winds in the area at the time.

Roann, Urbana, Lagro, Pleasant, Denver (Miami Co.), and Wabash City Fire Departments responded with the assistance from EMA, Sheriff Department, State Police, Red Cross, REMC, and Papa John’s Pizza.

The residents of the first structure were not at home at the time. The residents of the second structure were evacuated with the help of their neighbor and NTFD members. One patient was transported to the Wabash County Hospital by the Wabash City Fire Department for smoke related issues. No other injuries or issues were reported.

The fire was extinguished and units had left the scene as of 8:30pm. With both residences, the damage is estimated at $200,000+. The Indiana State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
