MSD School Board Will Consider Rescinding It’s Reconfiguration Decision

WABASH,IN   MSD of Wabash County School Board will consider rescinding its reconfiguration decision at its next meeting Tuesday, Aug. 9, according to the Board’s Aug. 9 agenda.

On July 12, the Board voted and approved the reconfiguration of the Northfield and Southwood school systems into one school and the closure of Sharp Creek Elementary School.

Also on Tuesday, the Board will also discuss possible plans for declining enrollment including reconfiguration.

On Thursday, July 28, The Paper of Wabash County filed a formal complaint with the Public Access Counselor against the Board asserting that its vote to reconfigure the district violated Indiana’s Open Door Law.

The Public Access Counselor will be announcing his opinion by Monday, Aug. 8.

Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public and will take place at 6 p.m. on Aug. 9 in the MSD Administrative Office.
