Michael E. Lynch, 70, of Albany, Georgia, died at 12:35 am, Monday, July 18, 2022, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. He was born on June 10, 1952, in Wabash, Indiana, to William Lynch and Patricia L. (Dawes) Wilder.
Mike attended the Wabash Friends Church and the Open Door Fellowship in Converse, Indiana. He was a mechanic and also helped his father work on airplanes at the Wabash Airport. Mike enjoyed motorcycles, horses, and was a nature and animal lover. He loved exotic birds and owned a cockatoo and a macaw.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Wilder of Albany; two children, Kari (Gregg) Vanover of Warren, Indiana, and Neil Lynch-Shorb of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four granddaughters, Hailey Vanover and Mia Vanover, both of Warren, Tiffany Shorb and Natalie Shorb, both of South Bend, Indiana; sister, Kathy (David) Geist of Albany; niece, Jennifer (Billy) DeHart of Bluffton, Indiana; and great-niece, Destinee Burlette of Ossian, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Lynch, and his brother, Steven Lynch who died in 1988.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Open Door Fellowship.
